Clinic-Based DBT IOP Services

She/her. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who uses a biopsychosocial approach to my assessment of a person's mental health concerns. I believe it is important to consider the whole person and their life experiences that played a role in the development of symptoms and patterns of ineffective behaviors. In treatment, I use an integrated approach to address mental health concerns in a manner that fits both the targeted problems and the client's unique presentation and personality. I aim to have my clients feel heard and understood, and for us to collaborate together in their treatment recovery process to improve functioning and help them to find a balanced life worth living.

As a client, I believe you are the expert on you, and I am here to provide guidance and direction along your life journey. At ACP, I provide services within the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Intensive Outpatient Program, with a focus on the client intake assessment process prior to beginning DBT services. I look forward to meeting you!

Dialectical Behavior Therapy:

ACP's DBT program adheres to the Linehan model of DBT, is certified by MN DHS. Our clients meet with their individual therapist for one hour a week and attend a two-hour weekly skills group for at least 26 weeks. Unlike traditional group psychotherapy which focuses on processing experiences and feelings, DBT groups focus on learning four sets of important skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT a very effective treatment for multiple conditions including borderline personality disorder, depression, PTSD, impulsivity, eating disorders, and some forms of anxiety.
