Joel Friesen, MA, LMFT

Community-Based Services

My personal mission is to help others achieve their mental health goals in whatever way is going to work best for the client. I primarily take a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy, but will also utilize other therapeutic approaches (i.e. narrative, collaborative) depending on what the client is most comfortable with and how they best learn new skills/strategies. I have been working as an in-home therapist since 2000 and love helping those who have difficulties with traditional clinic-based therapy. I really don't have a specific area of interest and have worked with children, adults and seniors. I have worked a lot with clients who are struggling with traumatic brain injuries, autistic spectrum disorders, and family imbalance issues using family therapy.
