Maria Sorensen, MSW, LGSW

Community-Based Services

I have been in the mental health field since 2011. I believe it takes a lot of courage and strength to seek support, and I believe everyone has the capacity to heal. My therapeutic approach consists of CBT, mind-body skills, mindfulness techniques, attachment theory, holistic approaches, and self psychology object relational theory. I enjoy working with adults who have a severe and persistent mental health diagnosis, and I am passionate about combining my love for music with mental health treatment. I have extensive knowledge about the neurological impact trauma has on the brain and how music can aid in the treatment of trauma.
