Sarah Najafalipour, MA

Community-Based Services

I received my BA degree in Psychology from Argosy University and my MA degree in Counseling and Psychological Services at Saint Mary's University. A large part of my professional history includes working with adults with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depression, and Borderline Personality Disorder. My approach is one of collaboration and empathy, mixed with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and behavior modification tools.

I have worked with numerous children and families since the beginning of my professional career, and my passion lies in working with children, specifically in the school setting. My therapeutic approach with children often involves working on emotions and behavioral education through play and art. My experience includes working with children who are struggling with behavioral issues, depression, anxiety, and social and self-esteem issues. My overall goal is to act as a support for the student and family, while always working in close collaboration with other professionals, such as school staff, social workers, and case managers. In my experience, the most successful way to bring about positive change in students involves a supportive and collaborative approach.
