Join Us for the NAMI Walk 2025

NAMI-walk-2

Each year, the Associated Clinic of Psychology team proudly sponsors and partners with the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) walk. This annual walk brings attention to the importance of mental health awareness, providing an opportunity for community members to make an impact and spread awareness of mental illness.

We invite everyone in our community to join us in helping to shine light on mental illness by joining us on this year’s mental health walk. Participating in this walk is more than just completing a 5K walk. Your attendance helps show your support for all the individuals in our community who suffer from mental illness, serving as an ally as we stand together as one. We believe in “mental health for all.”

What is the NAMI Walk?

NAMI refers to the National Alliance on Mental Health, an organization dedicated to advocacy, awareness, and bettering the lives of individuals affected by mental health conditions.

This inclusive community event brings together everyone in the community who has suffered from mental illness or supports those who have.

Not only does attending a mental health awareness walk show your support, but it’s also a great time!

Supporting Mental Health Awareness After NAMI Walks 2025

The annual NAMI walk of 2025 is just one of many ways you can help support individuals suffering from mental health issues. In the United States, it is estimated that 1 in 5 adults (about 23% of the adult population) suffer from a mental illness in any given year.

Even if you cannot attend this year’s 2025 Nami Walk, there are still plenty of ways you can show your support and help raise awareness of mental illness. Some actionable steps you can take today and beyond the mental health awareness walk:

  • Reach out and check in on individuals in your social circle (friends and family) – a simple check-in can make an impactful difference for a person with mental illness
  • Educate and read into mental health/illness, and know the signs to look for in others
  • Stay connected in the community and attend local mental health awareness events to show your support
  • Reach out for professional support and attend community groups if you are suffering from symptoms of mental illness
