Treatment for Substance Use Disorder at ACP
Outpatient services that utilizes a combination of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and an intensive therapy program to give you the highest level of care. MAT can help ease withdrawal symptoms, while a program of one-on-one and group therapy give you the tools necessary to succeed.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) uses a prescription medicine to treat adults who struggle with substance use disorder. Prescription medication can help prevent the cravings and withdrawals that keep people tied to the use of more harmful substances.
Our providers are experts on dependence and addiction. To learn more about whether this type of treatment is right for you and what your treatment plan would look like, reach out to us and schedule an appointment with one of our psychiatric providers.
Individual Therapy
MAT is an important component of treating substance dependence or addiction, but combining therapy with psychiatric care works better than either approach alone. Receiving one-on-one therapeutic care is critical to giving you the tools necessary to succeed.
Your individual therapist is trained to assess and treat the entire spectrum of mental health issues. They'll address your unique needs, including including substance dependence or addiction, but not limited to it. Our providers can also address issues such as depression, anxiety, family conflict, chronic pain, eating disorders, personality disorders, and more.
DBT Substance Abuse Disorder (SUD)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy can be used to treat varying types of behavior conditions including depression, PTSD, impulsivity, eating disorders, difficulties around emotional regulation, and addiction. In DBT, we teach critical skills focusing on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. At ACP, our DBT SUD program deals specifically with chemical dependency and mental health. Our program consists of two weekly group sessions (2 hours) and individual therapy (1 hour) at our Minneapolis location. Visit our DBT Therapy page for more information.
