Community-Based Therapy Services
Anne McGee, ARMHS worker, has a meaningful role combining her interest in education and mental health as she provides skills assistance to clients in their homes, or to people without homes. Prior to that, she adopted older kids, loved having extra time to enjoy them, and volunteered in the community and schools. Originally, her interest in mental health work began in San Jose, California when teaching at Homestead Sr. High and Valley High School. She found psychosocial and psychological aspects of her students to be more compelling than their academics. This led her to obtain her M.A. from Santa Clara University in Counseling, Psychology, and Education with a focus in correctional psychology. Fortunately, her students also inspired her to boogie board, and body surf at the beach. Originally, she grew up in the Twin Cities area, went to school at Concordia-Moorhead, the University of St. Thomas, and North High School. She was privileged to live and work in St Paul, Minneapolis, Mora, and East St. Paul. She’s tried out a variety of hobbies, each for about 5 years until losing interest and switching gears: reading anything by Simon Winchester, non-motorized water sports, motorized water sports, cooking “clean” food, cooking frozen food on audaciously cheap budgets, marathon tv watching, and painting with pastel crayons.
To expand and improve our care options for clients, ACP offers Telehealth (phone or video) appointments. Telehealth uses phone or video conferencing to connect you with highly qualified and experienced providers in real-time from the comfort and convenience of your own home or office. Before your telehealth appointment, you will receive details for how you will connect with your provider. If you will be connecting via phone, the provider will plan to call you at your scheduled appointment time. Please be ready to take the call and also check that your phone allows calls from blocked numbers (accessible within your phone settings). If you will be connecting via video conference, your provider will email you an invite to join the appointment. Please call our office to learn more about ACP’s telehealth services and to schedule an appointment.
