Clinic-Based Therapy Services

Emotional pain and suffering can take its toll on the strongest of people. This pain can be compounded by issues involving sexuality. While earning my Doctor of Psychology degree at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, no field of psychology kept my interest as much as the field of sexual health and human sexuality. I enhanced studies in sexuality with a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Sexual Health at the University of Minnesota/Twin Cities from 2006 to 2008. I became a licensed psychologist in Minnesota in 2009 and have been practicing individual and group therapy since my licensure.

My style of therapy is a combination of cognitive/behavioral therapy and interpersonal/humanistic therapy. While it is important to explore the underlying thoughts, beliefs, and feelings that contribute to psychological stressors, it is equally important to remember the humanity of the people that struggle with these stressors. I prioritize recognition of cultural diversity and multiculturalism in individual therapy and I would hope my clients use that diversity to foster psychological health.

I work with a variety of psychological disorders, but my specialty is working with individuals/couples presenting with sexual dysfunctions, compulsive sexual behavior, and gender issues. I welcome diverse clients from the kink communities, LGBTQ+ communities, transgender/non-binary communities, and individuals with sexual offense histories. I do not provide formal or state-mandated sex offender treatment, however.

Telehealth Services

To expand and improve our care options for clients, ACP offers Telehealth (phone or video) appointments. Telehealth uses phone or video conferencing to connect you with highly qualified and experienced providers in real-time from the comfort and convenience of your own home or office. Before your telehealth appointment, you will receive details for how you will connect with your provider. If you will be connecting via phone, the provider will plan to call you at your scheduled appointment time. Please be ready to take the call and also check that your phone allows calls from blocked numbers (accessible within your phone settings). If you will be connecting via video conference, your provider will email you an invite to join the appointment. Please call our office to learn more about ACP’s telehealth services and to schedule an appointment.
